What is a ''maid cafe''?
Maid Cafe is a very popular type of cafe that originated in Akihabara, Tokyo, Japan and has expanded since then, even across the seas. A Japanese maid cafe carries entrees, drinks, and desserts decorated cute, served by women dressed in maid uniforms. A maid not only works as a waitress, they also entertain the guests (card games/dance/sing/fun kids games, etc.) and make them feel at home. Even butler cafes are becoming rather popular. Maid cafes today have a huge influence on the United States, thus the creation of Mochi Cafe which, like many, took the concept of a maid cafe and created a unique twist to the idea.

Why are you a ''certain color'' maid or butler?
Mochi Cafe has different colors to the uniforms to help better reflect the diversity of our group. Not only do the colors give our maids and butlers a more personal touch to their uniforms, it often brightens up an attendee's day.
What events do you do?
We currently do local events within the San Diego area and on occasions Los Angeles. You are welcome to contact us here if you have any further questions about possible future events.
What is and where is the ''mochi''?
Mochi is a traditional food popular in Japanese cuisine, made from pounding rice into a sticky paste and presented in the form of a round cake or bun. Although mochi is traditionally exchanged on New Year's, it has become so popular that it can be found in almost any asian cultural based food stores. Because of the difficulty of storing fresh mochi and how expensive it can get, Mochi Cafe is unable to serve it. We hope to some day be able to serve mochi to everyone!
